As you know from my last blog on the 27th November day 118 of the campaign, I have returned home and I am busy preparing for the start of the next leg which starts on the 4th January 2010. One of the things I was going to be busy with during my “rest period”, was to spend time trying desperately to secure the additional sponsorship I need to recoup the R10 000-00 which was spent undertaking some major repairs to Buddy, which took a huge chunk out of his medical aid fund (basically my budget).
To date my appeals on my blog have unfortunately not bared any fruit whatsoever. But as always, those amazing people at Beares contacted me and I was given the best Christmas present ever. Tony von Blerk – Beares MD and Andrea Bell – Beares Marketing Executive, today confirmed that “Beares really cares” about the child rape situation in our country and increased my sponsorship to accommodate Buddy’s medical bills and to ensure that the campaign against child rape in South Africa continues unhindered.
So to all those amazing Beares people, you have Buddy and my eternal thanks and gratitude. Thank you for your support and we wish you and all the staff of Beares and Lubners as well as your families and loved ones a truly merry, blessed and safe Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
Caring regards from
Buddy and Me (Steve Heath)
